Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead its coastal and marine projects division in East London. You will oversee design and implementation of harbour infrastructure, coastal protection works and related civil structures, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

The role demands over 10 years in coastal/marine engineering, Pr. Eng registration with ECSA, and strong leadership and project-management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with coastal/structural focus.
• ECSA Pr. Eng registration is essential.
• 10+ years of coastal/marine civil engineering experience.
• Experience in marine structures design and oceanographic loads.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and execution of coastal engineering projects (breakwaters, seawalls, jetties).
• Manage structural design of harbour facilities (quays, berths).
• Conduct wave/current analysis, sediment transport studies, coastal processes modeling.
• Prepare detailed design reports, contract docs, and construction supervision plans.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regs and environmental standards.
• Mentor a team of civil and structural engineers on marine projects.
