Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with transportation expertise to join a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will lead design of highways, urban roads, and intersections, conduct traffic studies and forecasting, and ensure compliance with international standards while coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

The role requires 9+ years of experience, a BEng in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA, and proficiency in VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION, and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (specialization in transportation or related field)
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA
• Minimum 9 years of progressive experience in planning and design of transportation infrastructure
• Demonstrated expertise in traffic modelling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION) and CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D)
• Strong knowledge of South African transportation policies, design manuals, and environmental regulations
• Proven experience leading project teams and managing complex projects remotely
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Stable internet connection and dedicated home office setup are essential
