Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer specializing in bridge design to join a globally recognized engineering consultancy. The role is fully remote, allowing contribution to major international projects from anywhere.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Pr Eng registration or equivalent licensure.
• Minimum of 10 years focused on bridge design.
• Expertise in prestressed concrete, steel and composite bridges.
• Advanced proficiency in bridge analysis and design software.
• In-depth seismic design knowledge for bridges.
• Remote collaboration and leadership skills.
• Strong report writing and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of various bridge types from concept to construction drawings.
• Perform advanced analysis and modeling using MIDAS Civil, CSiBridge and LUSAS.
• Ensure designs comply with AASHTO, Eurocodes and SANS.
• Develop technical specifications, design reports, and construction methodologies.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects and construction teams remotely.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Review and approve design calculations and drawings.
• Conduct peer reviews and stay updated on bridge engineering advances.
• Contribute to cost, constructability and lifespan optimization.
