Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Senior AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to lead ethical frameworks for AI initiatives, ensuring responsible, fair, and compliant practices in a global tech environment.

You will develop governance policies, conduct risk assessments, advise product teams, and monitor regulatory trends with a focus on transparency and accountability in cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Philosophy, Law, Public Policy, Computer Science (ethics focus), or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in technology policy, ethics, risk management, or related field with a focus on AI/ML.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, bias, fairness, transparency, and GDPR/AI Act.
• Proven experience developing and implementing ethical guidelines and governance structures.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in remote, global teams and AI development lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine AI ethics principles, policies, and guidelines in alignment with international best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI systems and products.
• Advise product development teams on ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle, from design to deployment.
• Establish and manage AI governance frameworks, including review processes, accountability mechanisms, and audit trails.
• Monitor regulatory landscapes and emerging trends in AI ethics and governance globally.
• Develop training programs and educational materials to foster an ethical AI culture within the organization.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams to ensure coherent and effective AI governance.
• Investigate and address ethical concerns or breaches reported by internal or external stakeholders.
• Contribute to public discourse and thought leadership on AI ethics and responsible technology.
