Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced AI Ethics & Governance Specialist for a fully remote role. You will develop and enforce ethical guidelines, policies, and best practices across all AI initiatives, ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability, and societal benefit.

You will collaborate with legal, engineering, and policy teams to embed ethics into the AI lifecycle, staying abreast of evolving research and regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in ethics, law, public policy, computer science or related discipline with AI ethics focus.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing AI ethics or responsible AI programs.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, common biases, and ethical challenges in AI.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks pertaining to AI and data privacy.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain AI ethics frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new and existing AI projects.
• Provide guidance and training on AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI practices.
• Monitor AI systems for potential ethical issues, biases, or unintended consequences.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Stay informed about evolving AI ethics research and regulatory landscapes.
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions and workshops on AI ethics and governance.
• Develop communication materials and reports for stakeholders.
• Advocate for ethical and responsible use of AI throughout the organization.
• Contribute to tools and processes for AI governance and accountability.
• Engage with external stakeholders, policymakers, and the research community.
