Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Project Manager to lead renewable energy sourcing and development initiatives in South Africa, with initial focus around Upington, Northern Cape. The role requires steering projects from inception to execution in a fully remote setup.

You will conduct feasibility studies, manage permitting, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring schedule, budget, and risk controls are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or environmental science is required.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• 7+ years in project management, with 4+ years in renewable energy development.
• Experience with site selection, permitting, and environmental impact assessments.
• Strong knowledge of SA energy market and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficient with MS Project or Primavera P6 and remote collaboration tools.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end renewable energy sourcing and development projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments.
• Manage permitting at national, provincial, and local levels.
• Develop project plans including scope, schedules, budgets, and risk management.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, legal advisors, and community stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks in remote development settings.
• Provide progress reports to senior management and sponsors.
• Drive continuous improvement in project methodologies and development processes.
