Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field, have strong counseling and communication skills, and can work remotely with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Professional certification or licensure as a Rehabilitation Counselor preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in rehabilitation counseling or a related field.
• Proficiency with virtual counseling platforms and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, psychological, social, and vocational needs.
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling for coping strategies and emotional well-being.
• Assist clients in accessing vocational training, education, and employment services.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers.
• Educate clients and families about resources in the Polokwane area.
• Monitor progress and document interventions and outcomes.
• Advocate for clients’ rights within systems.
• Stay current with best practices in rehabilitation counseling.
• Facilitate transitions to independent living and community reintegration.
