Placements24 is seeking a Rehabilitation Counsellor for a fully remote role to support individuals in addiction recovery across SA. You will conduct remote assessments, develop personalised plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using telehealth tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
• Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., HPCSA) as Counsellor/Psychologist.
• Minimum 3–5 years direct counselling experience with substance use disorders.
• Proven expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for addiction recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive remote assessments of clients' substance use and co-occurring conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized counselling plans for clients.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions via video conferencing.
• Lead virtual group therapy focusing on relapse prevention and coping skills.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during distress or relapse.
• Educate clients and families about addiction and recovery resources.
• Monitor progress, document interventions, and maintain confidential records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care.
• Connect clients with community resources and aftercare services.
• Stay updated on research and best practices in addiction treatment.
