Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Technical Artist specializing in real-time graphics to join a pioneering team. This fully remote role bridges art and technology, optimizing assets and pipelines for real-time rendering engines and developing tools to boost productivity.

You will collaborate with artists and engineers to troubleshoot issues, develop material libraries and shader graphs, and stay current with the latest in real-time rendering.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Artist focused on real-time graphics.
• Expert proficiency with Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Suite.
• Deep understanding of real-time rendering pipelines and game engines (Unreal Engine and/or Unity).
• Proficiency in shader development (HLSL, GLSL, node-based editors).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, MEL, or C#.
• Strong understanding of art asset optimization techniques for performance and memory.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Game Development, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Optimize 3D art assets for performance and visual quality in real-time engines.
• Develop, implement, and maintain art pipelines, tools, and shaders.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure seamless asset integration.
• Create and manage material libraries and shader graphs.
• Assist in profiling and optimizing rendering performance on target platforms.
• Develop custom tools and scripts to automate tasks and enhance workflows.
• Stay up-to-date with real-time rendering technologies and game engine features.
• Provide technical support and training to the art team.
• Contribute to artistic direction by implementing cutting-edge visual techniques.
