About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing innovator in the Financial Technology (Fintech) sector, is seeking an experienced and visionary Project Manager to lead their product development initiatives. This role is 100% remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the creation of groundbreaking financial solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to development, testing, and launch. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial services, agile methodologies, and a proven ability to manage complex software development projects and inspire technical teams. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in the fintech space. While remote, collaboration will involve teams that support clients and operations in regions like Upington, Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of new fintech products and features.
• Define product strategy, roadmaps, and detailed project plans in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders.
• Manage agile development teams, ensuring efficient sprint planning, execution, and delivery.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, compliance, and operations.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, developing proactive mitigation strategies.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet market needs and regulatory requirements.
• Track project progress, provide regular status updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Champion best practices in agile development and product management within the organization.
• Conduct post-launch analysis and gather feedback for continuous product improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on software product development, preferably within the Fintech or financial services industry.
• Proven track record of successfully launching complex software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, financial products, and regulatory compliance (e.g., KYC, AML).
• Extensive experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and related tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams and foster high-performance culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
• Experience with API integrations and blockchain technology is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with security best practices in financial software development.
