About the Role

Our client, a major international construction and development firm, is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Remote Project Director to oversee large-scale, high-value construction projects. This is a senior leadership role requiring extensive experience in managing complex portfolios, P&L responsibility, and a proven ability to lead distributed teams effectively. Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and overall management for a portfolio of significant construction projects. Take full P&L responsibility for assigned projects, ensuring profitability and financial targets are met. Develop and implement strategic project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management frameworks. Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a high-performance culture within a remote environment. Oversee contract negotiations, procurement strategies, and the management of key stakeholder relationships. Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all projects. Drive innovation and best practices in project delivery and construction methodologies. Monitor project performance, providing regular, comprehensive reports to executive leadership. Manage complex legal and contractual issues, mitigating risks and resolving disputes effectively. Champion the company's vision and values, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Requirements

A Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 15 years of senior-level experience in construction project management and leadership, with a substantial track record of successfully delivering multi-million dollar projects. Proven experience in managing project portfolios and P&L accountability. Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities. Demonstrated success in leading and managing large, geographically dispersed teams in a remote setting. In-depth knowledge of international construction standards, contract law, and risk management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in advanced project management software and financial reporting tools. Ability to travel internationally as required for key project milestones and client meetings. A strong understanding of the global construction market.
