Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Program Development Officer to design and implement innovative community programs from a remote setting. You will lead from concept through launch, shaping initiatives that address critical needs across South Africa while coordinating with partners.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social sciences or a related field and at least five years’ experience in nonprofit program design and management.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program design, development, and management in the non-profit sector.
• Strong research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication suitable for remote collaboration.
• Proven success in securing funding and managing project budgets.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging community needs and conceptualize new program ideas.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop detailed project proposals with budgets and timelines.
• Secure funding for new programs through grant writing and donor engagement.
• Oversee the initial implementation phase of new programs to set them up for success.
• Collaborate remotely with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
• Monitor program performance, evaluate outcomes, and recommend improvements.
