Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly organized Remote Procurement Specialist to join their procurement team. This fully remote role enables you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa while managing purchasing across multiple categories.

You will source suppliers, conduct RFQs/RFPs, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with budgets. Strong communication and digital collaboration skills are essential to support internal stakeholders.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and organized Remote Procurement Specialist to join their procurement team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa . You will be responsible for managing the acquisition of various goods and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints. The successful candidate will play a key role in streamlining procurement processes, fostering strong supplier relationships, and identifying opportunities for cost savings through effective sourcing and negotiation, all while working within a flexible, virtual work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to order fulfillment, for assigned categories of goods and services.
• Source potential suppliers, conduct RFQs/RFPs, and evaluate proposals to ensure the best value for the company.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance, recommending adjustments to sourcing strategies as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide timely support.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role.
• Solid understanding of procurement procedures, best practices, and contract management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, adapted for a remote setting.
• Proficiency with procurement software and digital collaboration tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
