Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to drive efficiency across manufacturing operations. This remote role focuses on analyzing complex production processes, identifying improvements, and implementing data-driven solutions to reduce waste and costs from anywhere within South Africa.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's or PhD in a related field, with proven experience in process analysis, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Industrial/Chemical Engineering, Operations Research, or related field.
• Experience in process analysis, optimization and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
• Expertise with Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred) and Lean principles.
• Proficiency with process modeling and simulation software.
• Strong data analysis skills and data visualization experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and independent-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve yield, throughput, and quality.
• Use data analytics to monitor performance and identify root causes.
• Design and pilot new process improvements and integrate with existing systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and QA to implement best practices.
• Create and maintain process docs, including SOPs and dashboards.
• Research new tech/methodologies and recommend upgrades.
• Lead training sessions for operations on new processes.
• Track impact of optimizations and report measurable results.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
