Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for major infrastructure projects on a fully remote basis within South Africa. You will mentor junior staff, set design standards, and ensure high-quality output for national and international clients.

The role requires a BEng in Electrical Engineering, PrEng with ECSA, 10–12 years of infrastructure-focused experience, and strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) is required.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 10–12 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering, with infrastructure focus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design/analysis tools.
• Ability to lead design teams and manage complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their esteemed team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for leading the electrical design aspects of major infrastructure developments, including but not limited to transportation, utilities, and industrial facilities. This role demands a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects successfully.
