Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks a meticulous Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations for employees across locations, ensuring accurate and timely payments in line with legislation and company policies.

You will handle end-to-end payroll processes, data input, reconciliation and reporting, and serve as the primary contact for payroll queries, supporting employee satisfaction and financial accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have a National Diploma or equivalent in Payroll Management, HR, or Accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on payroll processing experience in South Africa.
• Proficiency with payroll software (VIP, Sage) and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly or monthly payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.
• Verify payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including journals for general ledger posting.
• Manage employee queries regarding payroll, tax, and benefits.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and update system information as needed.
• Liaise with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
