Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Network Security Analyst to monitor, analyze, and respond to threats across our network. This fully remote role supports a security operations center and may involve Paarl-based operations.

You will work with SIEM tools, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS to identify vulnerabilities and implement controls, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CEH) valued.
• Proven experience as a Network Security Analyst or in a similar cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Hands-on experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and threat analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, crucial for remote team environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security alerts for potential security breaches and suspicious activities using SIEM and other security tools.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to mitigate threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with threat intelligence, attack vectors, and security technologies.
