Job summary

Placements24 is seeking technically inclined individuals to begin a career as Junior Network Administrator Apprentices. This remote-first role focuses on supporting Polokwane operations while you learn network infrastructure, security, and troubleshooting under experienced engineers.

You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise networks, remote end-user support, and documentation, with mentorship and a clear path for advancement in a remote work-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with routers, switches and firewalls.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration for remote work.
• Self-motivated and able to learn independently.
• Relevant IT certifications or coursework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential issues or security threats.
• Provide remote support to end-users for network connectivity problems.
• Learn to manage user accounts and permissions within the network environment.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining network security protocols and procedures.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
