Placements24 is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead long-term municipal infrastructure planning remotely, supporting Paarl municipality initiatives and beyond. You will forecast demands, analyze growth, and prioritize capital investments for water, sanitation, roads, and stormwater projects.

The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, GIS proficiency, and collaboration with officials, offering a strategic impact from a fully remote setup in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's in Municipal Engineering or Planning is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is required.
• Minimum of 9 years in municipal engineering, focusing on infrastructure planning.
• Experience developing capital investment frameworks and master plans.
• Strong analytical skills with GIS and data analysis proficiency.
• Excellent report writing and remote collaboration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update long-term municipal infrastructure master plans for water, sanitation, roads, and stormwater.
• Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies for infrastructure development and upgrades.
• Analyze population growth, land use changes, and their impact on infrastructure capacity.
• Prepare capital investment plans and prioritize projects based on need and funding.
• Liaise with municipal officials, provincial authorities, and stakeholders for plan approvals.
• Research and recommend innovative technologies and sustainable practices.
