Job summary

Uptime Solutions Ltd is seeking a Network Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will own day-to-day network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and documentation for client and internal environments, working US hours (3pm–12am SAST).

In an MSP setup you will support Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, and Palo Alto devices, VPNs including SSL and IPsec, and VLAN/DHCP/DNS tasks. Strong communication and incident documentation are essential, with on-site visits coordinated as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco/Cisco Meraki, Fortinet/FortiGate, and Palo Alto platforms.
• Mandatory VPN setup and troubleshooting, incl. SSL VPN and IPsec.
• Firewall, VLAN, NAT, ACL, and routing experience required.
• Wireless AP/SSID support and dashboard monitoring experience.
• Strong MSP-style documentation and ticket updates.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and documentation.
• Support network gear remotely for multiple clients and internal environments.
• Coordinate with Engineers for on-site visits when needed.
• Maintain clear ticket notes, change notes, and proactive communication.
