Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Biologist Specialist for a fully remote position. The role targets individuals with deep expertise in molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics, capable of independent, home-based work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include remote experiment design, data analysis of large genomic datasets, and development of molecular assays. Collaboration with a global team and remote reporting are essential to advance our research agenda.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry research experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing genomic/transcriptomic data with bioinformatics software (R, Python, BLAST).
• Proven experience with standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, gene expression analysis, sequencing).
• Ability to work independently and manage projects autonomously.
• Excellent written communication for remote collaboration and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and design molecular biology experiments remotely.
• Analyze genomic/transcriptomic datasets using bioinformatics tools.
• Develop and optimize molecular assays (qPCR, ddPCR, NGS library prep).
• Interpret results, identify trends, and propose hypotheses.
• Collaborate virtually with colleagues on research projects.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for remote meetings.
• Contribute to manuscript and grant proposal writing.
• Maintain meticulous records in a secure digital environment.
• Stay updated with latest molecular biology and bioinformatics advancements.
