Placements24 is seeking a Remote Exploration Manager to lead mineral exploration programs from a remote setting, delivering strategic direction across multiple regions with a focus on the Western Cape mining community. This role emphasizes leadership, budget control, and cross-border collaboration.

You will design and oversee exploration plans, manage timelines, mentor a distributed team of geoscientists, and ensure environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related earth science discipline.
• 10+ years in mineral exploration management with remote leadership experience.
• Track record of discovering and defining mineral resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic exploration plans for new and existing mineral targets.
• Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines.
• Oversee geophysical surveys, sampling, and drilling programs remotely.
• Analyze geological data to guide exploration efforts and identify high-potential areas.
• Lead and mentor a distributed team of geoscientists and field personnel.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
