Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Remote Exploration Manager to lead mineral discovery initiatives in the North West province. This hybrid role combines remote strategy with on-site visits to project areas and stakeholders, delivering targeted exploration programs and team leadership.

You will identify new prospects, design exploration strategies, oversee geological teams, and drive growth through innovative remote management while ensuring safety and technical excellence across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geology or related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive mineral exploration experience with a proven discovery track record.
• Strong understanding of exploration techniques, project management, and geological modeling.
• Experience in managing budgets and leading exploration teams, preferably in remote or distributed settings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel for essential on-site reviews and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic exploration plans to identify and evaluate new mineral prospects.
• Oversee exploration programs including mapping, sampling, geophysics, and drilling campaigns.
• Manage exploration budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Interpret data and models to define targets and prioritize activities.
• Lead and mentor geologists and field technicians, ensuring safety and technical excellence.
• Engage with government agencies, joint venture partners, and senior management on progress and findings.
