Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Officer to join a fully remote team and provide accessible mental health support from anywhere. You will connect with clients via digital platforms, offer listening, coping strategies, and guide them to appropriate resources and professional help.

You will work with a distributed team to ensure continuity of care, maintain confidential records, and contribute to mental health advocacy and recovery initiatives.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field.
• Experience in a mental health support, counseling, or advocacy role.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health conditions and support frameworks.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
• Proficiency with video conferencing tools and digital record-keeping systems.
• Ability to manage challenging conversations and maintain professional boundaries remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote emotional support and active listening to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Assist clients in developing coping mechanisms and self-management strategies.
• Offer information and guidance on accessing mental health services and community resources.
• Conduct initial needs assessments via virtual communication channels.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records and document interactions thoroughly.
