Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Media Relations Manager to lead global PR efforts from a fully remote SA-based position. You will develop strategies, craft press materials, and manage media outreach for journalists and influencers worldwide.

The role emphasizes crisis management, monitoring trends, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging, with the freedom to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive media relations/public relations experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of traditional and digital media landscapes.
• Proven ability to build relationships with journalists and influencers.
• Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Proficiency with media monitoring tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies to support organizational goals.
• Craft compelling press releases, media kits, executive bios, and other PR content.
• Proactively build and maintain strong, positive relationships with key media contacts, journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, identifying potential opportunities and risks.
• Manage incoming media requests and coordinate interviews and media appearances for company spokespeople.
• Develop and execute crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate reputational risks.
• Collaborate with internal communications, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Organize virtual press conferences, media briefings, and other PR events.
• Analyze media coverage and provide regular reports on campaign performance and ROI.
• Stay abreast of emerging media platforms and digital PR opportunities.
