Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join their globally dispersed product development team, supporting Upington and remote projects. You will conceptualize, design, and refine complex mechanical systems for innovative products.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of experience, and expert use of SolidWorks, Inventor, or Fusion 360 with FEA/CFD. You will collaborate with remote teams and contribute a strong design portfolio.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of professional experience in mechanical system design, with emphasis on complex assemblies.
Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) and FEA/CFD tools.
Proven ability to manage remote design projects and collaborate with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of intricate mechanical systems and sub-systems, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
Create detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Perform advanced mechanical analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration simulations, using industry-standard software.
Work closely with remote cross-functional teams to integrate designs seamlessly.
Document design decisions, testing procedures, and project progress comprehensively for remote visibility.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and propose innovative design solutions.
