Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a fully remote role focusing on design, development, and testing of mechanical systems. You will work with a geographically dispersed team, using CAD tools and simulations to verify designs, while producing detailed documentation and BOMs.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in mechanical design, proficiency in Fusion 360/SolidWorks, and strong problem-solving skills to thrive autonomously in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials science.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., stress analysis) to verify design integrity.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
• Collaborate with remote team members, manufacturing partners, and quality assurance departments to resolve technical issues.
• Assist in the planning and execution of product testing and validation activities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in mechanical engineering.
