Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Mechanical Design Engineer focused on rotating equipment to join a fully remote engineering team. You will design pumps, turbines, compressors, and other rotating machinery, ensuring mechanical integrity and reliability from a home office.

You will collaborate with global teams, perform stress and fatigue analyses, and produce detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs to support high-performance equipment across industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in the design of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD software and specialized tools for rotating machinery design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of rotor dynamics, bearing technology, and sealing solutions.
• Experience with material selection and manufacturing processes relevant to rotating equipment.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for rotating equipment, such as impellers, shafts, casings, and seals.
• Perform detailed stress, vibration, and fatigue analysis on rotating components using FEA.
• Conduct aerodynamic and hydrodynamic analysis where applicable to optimize performance.
• Create comprehensive design documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure product quality and performance.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
