Placements24 is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role in the consumer electronics space. You will drive mechanical design from concept to mass production, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.

You will create detailed CAD models, perform FEA and thermal analyses, and collaborate with design, electrical, firmware, and supply chain teams to deliver high-volume products. A strong portfolio and remote-work experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical design, with consumer electronics or high-volume miniaturized products.
• Expert CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and advanced simulation (FEA, thermal).

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new consumer electronic products, ensuring aesthetic appeal, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, complex assemblies, and precise 2D manufacturing drawings using industry-leading software.
• Conduct rigorous analysis, including structural integrity (FEA), thermal management, and tolerance stack-up, to validate designs and ensure performance.
• Collaborate closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, firmware developers, and supply chain partners to achieve optimal product outcomes.
• Manage the design verification and validation process, including prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements.
• Oversee the transition of designs into mass production, working with contract manufacturers to ensure quality and yield targets are met.
