Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to conceptualize, design and develop automotive components from a remote location. You will work with a global team to push the boundaries of automotive technology and deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a strong CAD/FEA portfolio, deep knowledge of automotive materials and manufacturing processes, and the ability to communicate effectively in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design with automotive components.
• Proficient in CAD software (CATIA/SolidWorks) and FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus).
• Knowledge of automotive materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical automotive components using 3D CAD software.
• Perform detailed simulations and analyses (stress, thermal, vibration) to validate designs.
• Collaborate remotely with cross‑functional teams across styling, manufacturing and testing.
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory and cost requirements.
• Create engineering drawings, BOMs, and design reports.
