Placements24 is seeking a fully remote Remote Logistics Planner & Route Optimizer to design efficient national delivery routes, manage fleet schedules, and reduce transit times and fuel usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or related field.
• Proven experience in logistics planning, route optimization, or transportation management.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret complex data.

Based anywhere in Pretoria, Gauteng , or remotely across South Africa, this role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of Our client's extensive delivery network. You will be responsible for designing optimal delivery routes, managing fleet schedules, and leveraging advanced software to minimize transit times and fuel consumption. This position demands strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of logistics software, and the ability to work autonomously. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized delivery routes for a national fleet of vehicles, considering factors such as distance, traffic, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity.
• Utilize sophisticated route planning software and transportation management systems (TMS) to analyze data and generate efficient schedules.
• Monitor real-time delivery progress and proactively adjust routes to mitigate disruptions (e.g., traffic, weather, vehicle breakdowns).
• Collaborate with dispatch teams and drivers to ensure seamless execution of planned routes.
• Analyze transportation costs, fuel consumption, and driver performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Generate regular reports on route efficiency, cost savings, and delivery performance.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in logistics planning and route optimization.
• Contribute to the development of long-term logistics strategies and network design.
