Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, IT to translate business needs into contract provisions.

About the Role Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Legal Counsel with a specialization in contract law to join their expanding legal department. This is a fully remote position, allowing the successful candidate to work from anywhere within South Africa, though ideally with proximity to **Mossel Bay, Western Cape** for occasional team meetings if feasible. The role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and managing a diverse portfolio of commercial contracts, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risk for the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, service level agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Provide clear and concise legal advice on contractual terms, obligations, and potential risks to internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, from initiation and negotiation to execution and renewal/termination.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Procurement, IT) to understand business needs and translate them into legally sound contract provisions.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting contract management and commercial transactions.
• Assist in dispute resolution related to contractual matters.
• Ensure all contracts align with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements
