Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including service agreements, supply contracts, licensing agreements, and NDAs.
• Provide expert legal advice on commercial law matters, contractual interpretation, and risk management.
• Ensure all commercial agreements comply with applicable South African and international laws.
• Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including execution, amendment, and termination.
• Advise internal business units on legal issues related to sales, marketing, procurement, and operations.
• Conduct legal research and provide analyses on relevant commercial legal developments.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different departments and geographical locations in a remote setting.
• Assist in developing and implementing standardized contract templates and legal processes.
• Resolve contractual disputes and advise on dispute resolution strategies.
• Stay updated on changes in commercial law and best practices in contract management.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience focused on commercial law and contract drafting/negotiation.
• Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract law, consumer protection, and related commercial legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage a demanding workload, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
