Placements24 is seeking a Lead VR Environment Artist to spearhead the creation of immersive virtual worlds in a fully remote role. You will guide a team of environment artists, define the visual direction, and ensure the highest quality of environment assets for VR projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in 3D environment art with VR experience, a strong portfolio, and leadership capabilities to manage creative and technical aspects from a home office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in 3D environment art, with at least 3 years in a lead/senior role on shipped titles.
• Extensive VR development and optimization experience.
• Strong portfolio of environment art for games, focused on VR.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing tools (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of environment artists, providing direction and feedback.
• Define artistic style and technical standards for VR environments.
• Create and optimize high-quality 3D models, textures, lighting, and post-processing.
• Collaborate with designers, art directors, and engineers to realize project vision.
• Develop workflows and pipelines for environment art in Unity/Unreal.
• Optimize environments for VR performance and frame rates.
• Conduct art reviews to ensure consistency and quality across assets.
• Stay updated with VR tech and industry trends.
