Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead VR/AR Experience Developer to spearhead a fully remote development team and architect groundbreaking virtual and augmented reality applications. You will guide developers, designers, and artists, defining technical direction and delivering high-quality immersive experiences.

The role requires 7+ years in software with 4+ years in VR/AR, leadership experience, and expertise in Unity/Unreal Engine, C#/C++, and graphics APIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of software development experience, with at least 4 years in VR/AR.
• Proven experience leading development teams and managing complex projects.
• Expertise in VR/AR platforms and engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and SDKs.
• Strong proficiency in C# or C++ and graphics APIs (OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan).
• Experience developing for major VR/AR hardware (Oculus Rift/Quest, HTC Vive, HoloLens).
• Solid understanding of 3D math, game development principles, and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong leadership and remote-team communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of VR/AR applications end-to-end.
• Mentor and manage a team of VR/AR developers and designers.
• Define technical architecture and best practices for VR/AR projects.
• Develop high-performance, engaging experiences in VR/AR.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and artists to translate requirements.
• Optimize apps for performance, scalability, and UX across hardware.
• Stay updated on VR/AR hardware, software, and development trends.
• Implement robust testing and QA processes for VR/AR experiences.
• Research and prototype new technologies to enhance immersion.
