Placements24 is seeking a Senior 3D Environment Artist for a fully remote role in a cutting-edge game studio. You will craft immersive environments, modeling props, architecture, and terrain, and create textures, lighting, and shaders for real-time rendering across platforms.

Join a distributed team, contribute to high-profile titles, and help define the visual identity with a bold artistic direction. A strong portfolio and at least 5 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional 3D environment art with high-quality modeling, texturing, and lighting.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in 3D environment art for video games or real-time applications.
• Proficiency in Maya, 3ds Max, Blender.
• Expertise in texturing and material creation using Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop.
• Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong understanding of form, color, light, and composition.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide and receive feedback constructively.
• Knowledge of photogrammetry and procedural generation techniques is a plus.
• A passion for gaming and creating immersive visual experiences.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D environment assets, including props, architecture, and terrain.
• Develop detailed textures, materials, and shaders for environments.
• Utilize lighting techniques to establish mood and atmosphere within scenes.
• Optimize 3D assets for real-time rendering and performance across target platforms.
• Collaborate with level designers to block out and build game levels.
• Ensure visual consistency and adherence to the project's art direction.
• Integrate assets into the game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Participate in art reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in 3D environment art.
• Contribute to establishing and refining art pipelines and workflows.
