Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Lead UX/UI Designer to join their fully remote product development team, serving users in the Paarl region. The role focuses on guiding design strategy from concept to implementation, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating with product managers and engineers to create cohesive interfaces.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in UX/UI, a strong portfolio in user research, interaction and visual design, and proficiency with Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of UX/UI design experience, including senior/lead roles.
• Strong portfolio across user research, interaction and visual design.
• Experience mentoring design teams and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for digital products from research to high‑fidelity visuals.
• Develop and maintain design systems and style guides for consistency.
• Mentor and guide a team of UX/UI designers in a collaborative culture.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate needs into design.
• Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback.
• Stay current with UX/UI trends and best practices to drive innovation.
