Placements24 is seeking a Lead Telecommunications Systems Architect to define the technical vision and lead engineering teams remotely with strong ties to Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on next-generation telecom solutions, cloud integration, and secure, scalable architectures.

The ideal candidate has extensive telecom domain expertise, cloud experience, and proven leadership to drive strategic technology direction across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a related field.
• 10+ years of telecom systems design/architecture experience.
• Deep expertise in mobile, fixed-line, VoIP, cloud networking and SDN.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and security/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the architectural vision for telecom systems.
• Lead scalable, reliable, and secure network designs.
• Oversee integration of wireless, wireline, and cloud platforms.
• Develop and enforce architectural standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to translate requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoptions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Conduct architectural reviews ensuring security and performance.
