Placements24 is seeking a Lead Telecommunications Solutions Architect to drive end-to-end network solution designs in a fully remote role within South Africa. You will shape the technical roadmaps for mobile, fixed-line, and converged networks while guiding global teams and vendors.

Competenze

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 10+ years designing and implementing telecom networks and architectures.
• Expert in mobile (2G/3G/4G/5G), fixed-line (FTTx), and IP networking.
• Experience leading complex enterprise or service-provider solutions.
• Familiarity with VMware, KVM, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong communication and mentoring skills for cross-functional teams.

• Design complex telecom architectures spanning core network, transport, and access.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions with product and engineering teams.
• Create detailed solution designs, proposals, and documentation.
• Evaluate technologies and vendors for interoperability and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide guidance and mentorship during implementation lifecycle.
• Lead technical reviews and mitigate architecture risks.
• Stay updated on 5G, SDN/NFV, IoT, and cloud-native trends.
• Present concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and gain buy-in.
