The ideal candidate has deep expertise in reservoir engineering, geology, geophysics, and production operations, with a proven record of delivering robust subsurface strategies remotely.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or related subsurface discipline.
• Minimum 12 years in subsurface engineering/geoscience with at least 3 in leadership.
• Extensive offshore exploration and development experience.
• Expertise in reservoir engineering with geology/geophysics knowledge.
• Experience with subsurface software and modeling techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and virtual team management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive complex projects remotely.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making capability.
• Experience managing technical teams and cross-functional collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary subsurface teams evaluating exploration and development opportunities.
• Oversee development of subsurface models: geological, reservoir, and production.
• Ensure technical integrity of subsurface studies, reports, recommendations.
• Collaborate with project management and other engineering disciplines to define scope.
• Develop and implement best practices for subsurface data management and interpretation.
• Assess subsurface risks and mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to field development planning and production optimization.
• Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Champion adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
• Manage external consultants and service providers as needed.
