Placements24 is seeking a Lead Process Design Engineer for a fully remote role in the chemical processing sector. You will spearhead the design, optimization, and scale-up of chemical process systems, mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams worldwide.

You will optimize processes using Aspen Plus/HYSYS, develop PFDs and P&IDs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while driving innovative solutions for global operations.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in process design engineering in the chemical industry.
• Proven track record in leading complex process design projects and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of new chemical process systems and modifications to existing ones.
• Prepare detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, equipment vendors, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Mentor and guide junior process engineers, providing technical direction and feedback.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues encountered during design, construction, or operation.
