Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Designer to spearhead the mechanical design of complex integrated systems in a remote-friendly role. You will lead a team of designers, drive system architecture, and ensure seamless integration across electrical, software, and controls domains.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mechanical design, at least 3 years in a lead role, and strong expertise in SolidWorks or Inventor, PDM/PLM, and thermal management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical design with 3+ years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Experience in systems integration of complex electro-mechanical designs.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or Inventor and PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong knowledge of control systems, power distribution and thermal management.
• Excellent leadership and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for complex integrated systems from concept to production.
• Develop system architecture ensuring mechanical compatibility and performance.
• Create CAD models, drawings and documentation for mechanical components.
• Coordinate with electrical, software and controls teams for successful integration.
• Mentor and guide a team of mechanical designers; conduct design reviews and issue resolution.
• Oversee remote collaboration to ensure project success.
