Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to guide design initiatives for advanced manufacturing technologies. This remote-first role involves leading a distributed team of engineers, defining strategies, and ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, and a proven track record of leading remote teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Extensive experience with CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a remote team of mechanical design engineers.
• Oversee the entire mechanical design process from concept to release.
• Define technical strategies and roadmaps for mechanical development.
• Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to the team.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional remote teams (R&D, manufacturing, product management).
• Drive adoption of best practices in design, analysis, and documentation.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies to guide innovation.
• Manage project timelines and resources in a remote structure.
• Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to senior management.
