Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer to join a remote-first engineering team. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable microservices, architect cloud-native solutions on AWS/Azure/GCP, and mentor a team of engineers to drive technical excellence.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong backend and distributed systems background, and deep cloud expertise.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend and distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in backend languages (Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable microservices.
• Architect cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural patterns.
• Oversee deployment and management of services using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies.
• Collaborate with product management to define technical roadmaps and requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues; conduct code reviews and provide feedback.
• Drive innovation by adopting new technologies and methodologies.
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance of all developed services.
