• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.

• Proven ability to lead remote design teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and environmental assessment methods.

About the Role

Our client, a pioneering international engineering consultancy, is seeking an exceptional Remote Lead Civil Design Engineer to spearhead the design of sustainable infrastructure projects. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within South Africa. You will be instrumental in developing innovative, environmentally conscious designs for projects such as renewable energy facilities, green buildings, water conservation systems, and resilient urban developments. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of sustainable engineering principles and a proven ability to manage design teams and complex projects in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of sustainable civil infrastructure projects, focusing on environmental impact and resource efficiency.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, with at least 5 years dedicated to sustainable infrastructure or green building projects.
• Demonstrated experience in leading design teams and managing complex projects remotely.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks, green technologies, and environmental impact assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in relevant design and modeling software, including CAD and potentially GIS tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, particularly in a remote work context.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and deliver cost-effective sustainable solutions.
