Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Automotive Systems Architect to define the high-level architecture for vehicle ECUs and integrated systems. This fully remote role guides cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software interoperability and alignment with product strategy from concept to production.

You will apply 10+ years in automotive systems engineering, with strong expertise in embedded systems, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and hardware-software co-design, to drive technical vision and scalable

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in automotive systems engineering with at least 4 years in architecture/lead role.
• Proven track record of designing complex automotive electronic systems.
• Deep understanding of hardware-software co-design principles in automotive.
• Expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 and cybersecurity best practices in automotive.
• Experience with modeling tools (SysML, UML) and simulation environments.
• Strong leadership and remote team management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear requirements and architecture documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive technical innovation.

Responsibilities

• Define and document the high-level architecture for automotive ECUs and integrated vehicle systems.
• Oversee the design of software and hardware interfaces, ensuring interoperability and adherence to AUTOSAR.
• Lead the technical direction for system development from concept through production with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies to enhance system performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Develop system requirements and specifications aligned with product strategy and market needs.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and architects, fostering technical excellence.
• Manage technical risks and propose mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
• Facilitate technical reviews and decision-making within the engineering organization.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the overall vehicle architecture.
