Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Commercial Lawyer for a fully remote role. You will draft and review contracts, advise on corporate governance, and support senior lawyers across a range of commercial matters in a flexible virtual environment.

Ideal for an early-career SA lawyer, you must be admitted to the High Court, with 0–3 years PQE, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 0–3 years post-qualification experience in commercial or corporate law.
• Strong academic record with knowledge of SA contract and commercial law.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various commercial law topics.
• Support senior lawyers in managing corporate governance matters.
• Assist with due diligence processes for various transactions.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide basic legal advice under supervision.
• Help maintain and organize legal files and documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
