Placements24 is seeking a junior legal advisor to join their remote legal team. You will support senior lawyers in contract review, legal research, and corporate governance matters from your home office.

Ideal for an early-career professional with Admitted Attorney status or nearing completion of articles, solid SA corporate law basics, and excellent research and communication skills. This role offers growth in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney or candidate attorney nearing completion of articles.
Basic understanding of South African corporate law and contract law principles.
Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with digital legal tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing tasks.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and execution of commercial contracts and agreements.
Conduct legal research on corporate and commercial law issues.
Support corporate governance compliance and maintenance of statutory registers.
Prepare legal documentation for board meetings and shareholder communications.
Assist with due diligence processes for various transactions.
Respond to routine legal inquiries from internal departments.
Maintain legal filing systems and manage documentation electronically.
Monitor changes in legislation and update internal resources.
Support senior counsel in managing litigation and dispute resolution.
