About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing global SaaS company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote IT Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their cloud-based and on-premises IT infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency, security, and scalability of our client's IT systems, supporting a remote workforce.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of server administration, virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and network infrastructure.

You will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of systems, proactive monitoring, and rapid resolution of technical issues. This is a fully remote position requiring a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, including installations, configurations, and patching.
• Manage and support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Implement and manage network services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO.
• Ensure system security through robust access controls, firewalls, and regular security audits.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure uptime.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex IT issues escalated by other teams.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
• Collaborate with development teams and other IT professionals to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems administration, with a strong focus on remote IT operations.
• Proven expertise in managing Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and related services.
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation is highly advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high performance in a remote setting.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
