Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly competent Remote IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and maintain our robust IT infrastructure across locations including Randburg. This is a fully remote role requiring expertise in server administration, network management, and cloud technologies to ensure reliability, security, and performance of IT systems in a virtual environment.

The ideal candidate is proactive with strong problem-solving skills and thrives remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including server administration, network engineering, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cybersecurity skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network devices, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions for high availability and performance.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain data security and integrity.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for IT infrastructure-related incidents.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
